Glossary

Every platform term in one place, A to Z. Each entry links to its full page.

Advanced product
A parent product composed of child products (groupedproducts rows). The admin UI calls them Advanced Offers. Covers either/or choices and recurring cadences. Products
AccountId
Our column name for InComm's ingenId. On Walmart cards the same column holds a Fiserv trace number instead. What is a card
APL
Approved Product List. The same thing as a catalog: APL is the business word, catalog is the portal and database word. Examples: ATF, Grocery, Nutrition Essentials. InComm offers
Activity
The portal menu item for card events. The page is titled Transactions for Bridge Admins and Redemptions for orgs. Same table underneath. Card events
ATF
The exclusion APL that blocks Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms and allows everything else. Inclusion vs exclusion
Banner
A retail brand, for example Safeway. Stored as rows in the retailers table. Offers attach to banners via incommoffer_x_banner. InComm offers
Card (iQpay)
One clip of one offer at one send datetime. Identified by CardId. What is a card
Card (InComm)
What InComm calls a customer: one ingenId with one PAN. Offers get clipped to it. What is a card
Catalog
A UPC list at InComm, mirrored in incommcatalogs and incommcatalogitems. Referenced by offers through tag strings. Inclusion vs exclusion
Clip
InComm's verb for attaching an offer to an ingenId on their side. Each clip becomes one iQpay card. Unclip removes it. Re-clip refills a recurring benefit. The clip lifecycle
Either/Or
An advanced product pairing an InComm offer and a Walmart promo of the same dollar amount. The member picks one at activation; the choice is locked for that card's life, and a recurring resend offers it again next cycle. What powers a card
Exclusion catalog
A catalog listing what members cannot buy. Tag starts with X-. Inclusion vs exclusion
ExternalId
The identifier an organization uses for its own member and hands to us: a healthcare or subscriber number, a random unique ID, or a code that encodes their groups and benefit tiers. It is how the org finds its members in our system, and how eligibility files match (membereligibilities joins on it; there is no MemberId there). Database map
Fine-line category
Walmart's internal product categorization. WM-Managed offers are adjudicated by fine line, not by our UPC lists. The Walmart triangle
FixCard
The reconciliation routine that re-syncs local card state with InComm's clip list, in both directions. Recurring offers & the clip lifecycle
Grouped product
One row in groupedproducts: the attachment record tying a child product to an advanced product, carrying the child's amount, position, cadence, and expiration. An advanced product's contents are exactly its grouped-product rows. Products
Inclusion catalog
A catalog listing what members can buy. Plain tag, no X-. Inclusion vs exclusion
ingenId
InComm's identifier for a customer. Six digits. Stored in cards.AccountId. One per member per organization. What is a card
Marketplace
Defunct. A legacy arrangement where an owner program published products and subscriber programs consumed them. Pages and data remain; do not create new ones. Programs
Member
A person who receives benefits. Belongs to one organization. Enrolls into programs via programmembers. Muddy: the portal calls them Recipients, and on InComm's side the holder is a customer. Programs
Network
The named retailer set where a program's OTC cards work (programs.NetworkId). Key pair: InComm Full Existing Offers Network for inclusion, InComm Full Minus Walmart for exclusion. Programs
Offer
On this site, always means an InComm offer: a numbered benefit contract with value, catalogs, and clip rules. In the portal the word is muddy: half the UI calls products offers, and "send an offer" and "send a card" both mean sending a product. InComm offers
OTC Network
The retailer network where clipped InComm offers can be spent. Includes Walmart only for inclusion or WM-Managed offers. What powers a card
PAN
The 19-digit card number, for example 6103 8040 0204 4903 045. One per ingenId. Minted by iQpay, registered with InComm. What is a card
Product
The portal's sellable wrapper around an InComm offer or a Walmart promo; advanced products wrap other products. Muddy: the UI calls the same row an offer in the Send cards wizard and the member's wallet, and an Advanced Offer when composite. Products
Program
One client benefit: products, members, billing rules. Owned by an organization. Programs
Promo code (Walmart)
The identifier behind a Walmart-issued card, from our direct Walmart relationship. Works only at Walmart. Scope is category-level and frozen at creation. The Walmart triangle
Purse
The short label InComm gives an offer's balance bucket, for example 92Produce26. One purse per offer, set at creation, locked afterward, max 20 characters in the portal form. Redemption data reports balances per purse, which is how you spot the offer inside transaction data. See Card events.
Send
To create an order. Whatever noun follows (offer, product, card), the action is the same: an order is created, it mints a card per member, and an offer funds it on activation. Products
Recipient
The portal's word for a member. Same row in members. Concept map
Sponsor
The portal's word for an organization. Same row in organizations. Concept map
Trace number (Fiserv)
Fiserv is Walmart's card processor. When Walmart issues a card, Fiserv returns a trace number, its own reference for that issuance. We store it in cards.AccountId, the column that holds the InComm ingenId on InComm cards, because Walmart cards have no ingenId. The Walmart triangle
UPC (InComm space)
A barcode with no check digit, front-padded with zeros to 14 digits. The only shape used inside catalogs and events. UPC format
VerificationCode
The hidden key that groups iQpay cards into one wallet. All cards in a wallet share it. What is a card
Wallet
All iQpay cards sharing one VerificationCode. Equals one InComm customer: one ingenId, one PAN, N offers. What is a card
WM-Managed
An exclusion InComm offer that Walmart accepts and adjudicates with its own fine-line categories. No flag for it exists in our database. The Walmart triangle
Walmart Submitted
An inclusion InComm offer approved by Walmart through the normal submission path. The Walmart triangle
X- prefix
The naming convention marking a catalog tag as exclusion. A string test, not a schema flag. Inclusion vs exclusion
iQpay internal. Do not share outside the company.
